Great- very adaptable!

After my dad's stroke, I was flying in from Denver every few weeks trying to figure out meals. He needs soft foods now and he's diabetic. I had no idea who to trust or where to start. I found Justine after weeks of dead ends. She came to the house for a consultation first, which immediately put my dad at ease. After every single visit she sends me a quick note: what she cooked, how he seemed, anything she noticed. He's been eating better than he has in years, and for the first time since his diagnosis I'm not panicking every time I board a plane home. I finally feel like he's taken care of.

I’ve been managing diabetes for years! I’ve tried every “diabetic friendly” option out there but it taste terrible. Nutrisystem was awful. The frozen diabetic meals from the grocery store are worse. I almost gave up on meal delivery entirely until a friend of mine told me about Justine at Well Prepped Life. The food tasted amazon, not some diabetic meal. My blood sugar didn’t spike after a single meal. I’ve been ordering every week for four months now and I’ve lost 18 pounds without even trying, If you have diabetes and you think eating well means eating boring, please try this. It changed my whole outlook.

06 · The situations we're built for

When families call us

Most families find us during a specific moment. If one of these sounds like your week, we can help.

After a hospital stay or surgery

Discharge planners send your parent home with a binder of instructions. Recovery depends on real food in real portions. We handle the kitchen part — high-protein, anti-inflammatory, or post-surgical menus — while you focus on everything else.

Recovery meal plan →

Mobility or chronic condition

Standing at the stove isn't safe anymore. Renal, diabetic, low-sodium, dysphagia — the diet matters and a frozen tray doesn't cut it. We cook fresh, in their kitchen, the way their doctor laid out.

Medical-diet meal plans →

Cognitive decline or dementia

Familiar comfort foods, dementia-appropriate textures, and a steady weekly rhythm that doesn't require your parent to remember anything. The caregiver gets a written report every week.

Memory-care nutrition →

No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation.

The 15-minute consultation is free and you walk away with actionable insights either way. No high-pressure pitch, no commitment, no strings.

07 · FAQ

Common questions

How much does in-home meal prep cost?

$180/week (Foundation) or $200/week (Coordinated medical-diet plan) plus groceries at cost (~$50–$120/week for one senior). Both tiers cover 8 fresh, portioned meals cooked in your kitchen by a ServSafe-certified chef. Coordinated adds medical-diet management (renal, diabetic, dysphagia, post-surgery, dementia) and a written weekly family report. No subscription, cancel anytime.

Does Medicare cover in-home meal prep?

Medicare does not cover in-home meal prep. Some Medicare Advantage plans cover short-term medically tailored meals after a hospital discharge, but general weekly meal prep is not a covered benefit. Most families who hire Well Prepped Life spend less per month than a single day in a skilled nursing facility.

How quickly can we get started?

Usually within the week. Book a free 15-minute consultation and the first cook session is typically scheduled within 7–10 days. After a hospital discharge, call directly — we can often be in the kitchen within 48 hours.

What areas of the Bay Area do you serve?

Well Prepped Life serves Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Atherton, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Campbell, San Jose, Redwood City, San Mateo, Burlingame, Milpitas, San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek, and Marin County.

What makes Well Prepped Life different from meal delivery services?

Meal delivery services ship portioned, pre-made meals from a central kitchen — one menu for everyone. Well Prepped Life sends a ServSafe-certified chef to your parent's home to cook fresh, tailored to their exact medical diet (diabetic, renal, dysphagia-safe, dementia-appropriate). Nothing frozen, nothing generic.

What credentials does the chef have?

Justine Sanidad is ServSafe Food Handler certified and has 5+ years of experience in adaptive cooking and senior nutrition. Documentation is available on request. Every cook session follows commercial-kitchen food safety practices in your home kitchen.

What if my parent is on a specific medical diet?

The Coordinated Meal Plan tier ($200/wk) is built for this. We handle renal, diabetic, dysphagia (textured/pureed food), post-surgical high-protein recovery, dementia-appropriate (familiar comfort foods), low-sodium for heart conditions, and anti-inflammatory menus. We work directly from your doctor's dietary guidelines.

Can we cancel or skip weeks?

Yes, any time. There's no subscription, no contract, no cancellation fee. Skip a week for travel, pause for a family visit, or stop entirely — just give us a few days' notice so we can adjust the shopping.
