My Story
I remember the moment clearly. I was visiting a family member — someone who had spent decades cooking for everyone around her — and I noticed the stove had gone cold. The pantry was full of canned soups she didn't really want to eat. The kitchen, which had always been the warm heart of her home, had quietly become a source of anxiety. A place that once gave her comfort and pride had turned into a reminder of what had become harder. That moment stayed with me.
I had spent years working in caregiving and nutrition support, sitting with people in their most vulnerable moments. And whether I was working with an elder recovering from a fall, a young adult navigating a new disability, or someone managing a chronic condition on a fixed income, I kept seeing the same pattern: people losing their confidence in the kitchen, defaulting to whatever was easiest or cheapest, and quietly grieving the meals they used to make. The joy of cooking — that fundamental daily act of nourishment — was disappearing, and nobody seemed to be addressing it directly.
What struck me was that the solution wasn't a meal delivery service. It wasn't a fancy chef. It was someone who could sit down at the kitchen table, understand what a person could still do, adapt the techniques to what their body needed today, and rebuild that confidence one small win at a time. Not pity. Not charity. Partnership. A patient, skilled presence who could make the kitchen feel like theirs again.
That's why I founded Well Prepped Life. It exists for the people who want to eat well but need someone in their corner — someone who will come to their home, learn their tastes, respect their limits, and help them find the joy in food again. For seniors, for disabled adults, for anyone who deserves better than survival eating. I don't just prep meals. I prep people.
“I don’t just prep meals. I prep people.”
