Private Personal Chef Meal Delivery in Hillsborough, CA

Hillsborough is a town with no commercial zoning, no traffic lights on most streets, and a long-standing culture of discretion. Senior residents tend to be well-established homeowners — many in the Country Club area, Lower Hillsborough, the Tobin Clark estates, or the streets bordering Burlingame Country — who have cultivated long relationships with household staff, physicians, and care managers and who expect new providers to integrate quietly into that structure. Well Prepped Life offers discreet personal chef meal delivery and care coordination for older adults in Hillsborough, with Mills-Peninsula Medical Center sitting just down Trousdale as the local clinical anchor. Justine personally oversees every Hillsborough engagement.

Discreet Delivery Into an Established Household

Our Hillsborough clients typically live in homes where the kitchen was once the center of a busy family and has quieted in recent years. Our work reintroduces a consistent weekly rhythm of fresh, home-style cooking without asking anyone in the household to take on new responsibilities. Each week we cook seven to ten personalized meals fresh at our own kitchen, produced from ingredients sourced to your preferences — Draeger's in San Mateo, the Burlingame Fresh Market on Burlingame Avenue, the farmers' market on Park Road on Sundays — and deliver them labeled and ready for the refrigerator and freezer. The result reflects your actual taste rather than a fixed menu. For households that already have housekeepers, caregivers, or private nurses on a regular schedule, we time deliveries around that calendar rather than disrupting it. Many of our deliveries arrive on the same day as the existing housekeeping rotation, which keeps the household rhythm intact.

Working With Existing Care Teams

Hillsborough engagements often involve medical coordination — working alongside private nurses, geriatric care managers, cardiologists, registered dietitians, or speech-language pathologists to align weekly cooking with each client's care plan. The local context helps. Many of our Hillsborough clients are followed at Mills-Peninsula, and discharge instructions or dietitian guidance from that hospital are familiar to us. We cook diabetic menus with labeled carbohydrate counts, cardiac plans with tight sodium and saturated-fat control, kidney-friendly menus coordinated with a nephrologist, anti-inflammatory cooking for autoimmune or chronic-pain cases, and soft/pureed meals calibrated to specific dysphagia recommendations. As health evolves, the menu evolves with it. We keep careful notes after every delivery so a change in medication, a new test result, or a shifted preference carries forward automatically. The family never has to re-explain.

An Engagement Near the Country Club

An 88-year-old long-time Hillsborough resident with progressive Parkinson's, followed at Mills-Peninsula, came to us through her geriatric care manager. The household already had a private daytime caregiver and a weekend nurse; what was missing was sustained kitchen attention. Eating had become difficult — tremor was making forks unreliable, and her swallowing evaluation had moved her to a soft-and-bite-sized texture standard. We took over Wednesdays. The menu rebuilt around the things she still wanted to eat at that texture: braised chicken thigh shredded into its own gravy, soft polenta with parmesan, a salmon mousseline, gentle vegetable purées, and a chocolate pot de crème her cardiologist gave her permission to keep. The caregiver heats and serves; the family no longer manages food. That is generally what these engagements look like.

Town Logistics and Coverage

We serve households throughout Hillsborough, including the Country Club area, Lower Hillsborough, the Tobin Clark estates, the streets bordering Burlingame Country, and the larger lots above Skyline. Town layout — private drives, gated entries, long approaches — means we confirm access logistics during onboarding and coordinate with whichever household contact you designate. From Mountain View HQ, most Hillsborough addresses are 25–30 minutes off-peak. We also routinely serve neighboring Burlingame, San Mateo, and Atherton, which is helpful for families with adjacent residences or relatives. Call (415) 971-3464 before your consultation if there are specific access, household-staff, or scheduling considerations to plan around; handling those quietly is part of the service.

Beginning an Engagement

Every engagement begins with a complimentary in-home consultation. You can book one at /book or by calling (415) 971-3464. During this visit we meet with the primary client — and with family members, care managers, or household staff as appropriate — to discuss health history, medications, cuisine preferences, and the household's existing rhythm. We review any relevant medical guidance and outline what a sustainable weekly or bi-weekly delivery plan would look like. From that conversation we share a clear plan with transparent pricing. There are no long-term contracts. The first delivery typically takes place within one to two weeks, and the menu is refined over the first several deliveries as we learn the household's preferences in detail. We do not publicize our clients, and we do not discuss engagements outside of the household.

One Dedicated Chef, and a Same-Week Start

Families comparing personal chef services in Hillsborough will find national franchises that send a rotating chef to cook in the home. Our model is deliberately different. Every Hillsborough engagement is Justine Sanidad — one ServSafe-certified chef who cooks every meal fresh in her own Mountain View kitchen and delivers to your door. No stranger working in your kitchen, no rotation of unfamiliar faces for household staff to manage, and the same palate learning your preferences week after week. Because we are small and local, we can usually begin the same week you call — which matters when a discharge from Mills-Peninsula is imminent and the household needs food handled now, not after an intake queue. Eight fresh meals weekly; Foundation is $180 per week, Coordinated is $200, groceries at cost. Call (415) 971-3464 and we will confirm a start date on that call.

Senior Resources Near You in Hillsborough

Hillsborough's senior residents are accustomed to high-quality services and often come to us when they realize that meal delivery apps don't have the capability to handle complex medical diets or to cook inside their home. After care at Stanford Health Care or Mills-Peninsula Medical Center, discharge dietary instructions are precise and consequential. The nearby San Mateo and Burlingame senior centers offer community support, but the in-home, clinically aligned cooking is what we provide — every week, in the kitchen your parent already knows.

Great- very adaptable!

I needed some extra help cooking health(ier) meals, and I found Well Prepped Life at the beginning of June. I first gave the service a try because of the empathy, business sense, and creativity shown on the website, and am sticking with it because the owner, Justine, is *also* a fabulous cook and person. Over the past several months, Justine and I have gotten a system dialed in: my family orders 8 meals a week: two sets of four meals each with protein, veggie, and carb and we develop a menu on Sundays or Mondays with Justine’s help (which because I have limited ideas is basically taking her thoughtful and varied suggestions!) Meals are cooked on Tuesdays in a commercial kitchen and Justine drops them off at our house on Tuesdays in a cooler, where I also leave the washed glass containers from the previous week for exchange. I love the business model, where because food costs are directly passed through and I pay a fixed price for cooking, I can specify the kind and amount of ingredients — generally organic and large portions — so 1 meal will feed an adult with a big appetite, or 2 people with smaller appetites. I also love how open Justine is to feedback — for example, I had requested glass containers and she made them available the next week. On the rare occasion that a dish *hasn’t* been a hit, Justine has really listened to my comments and says “Yep, I get it, I’ll do X and Y next time” and does it — which is exactly the kind of person that I want to be working with. Well Prepped Life basically takes care of most dinners for the work week when the adults are pressed for time *and* is delicious, homemade, high-quality food that I wish I could make myself. Our family has been eating much better and has gotten a lot of time back.

Medicare does not cover general in-home meal prep. Some Medicare Advantage plans cover short-term medically tailored meals after a hospital discharge, but ongoing weekly meal prep is not a covered benefit.
