Well Prepped Life — Service
In-Home Meal Prep for Seniors in San Francisco
If you or someone you love is living in San Francisco and struggling to keep up with cooking, you are not alone. Grocery runs up steep hills, kitchens designed for an era when standing for an hour felt easy, and the sheer mental load of planning nutritious meals every single day — it adds up fast. Well Prepped Life sends a ServSafe-certified chef directly to your home in San Francisco to cook a full week of meals in your own kitchen, using your own dishes, in a single visit. There are no meal kits to assemble, no frozen entrees to microwave, and no compromises on dietary needs. Founder Justine Sanidad built this service specifically for older adults and disabled adults who deserve home-cooked food without the exhaustion that comes with making it every day. Whether you live in the Richmond District, the Sunset, Noe Valley, the Castro, Pacific Heights, or anywhere else in the city, we come to you.
What In-Home Meal Prep Includes
Each visit begins with a personalized menu built around your health conditions, dietary restrictions, flavor preferences, and the foods you actually enjoy eating. On session day, your chef arrives at your San Francisco home with a prep plan and gets to work in your kitchen. Over three to four hours, we prepare seven to ten complete meals — breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks as needed. Every dish is portioned into individual containers, labeled with the meal name and reheating instructions, and organized in your refrigerator or freezer before we leave. Your kitchen is cleaned and reset when we go. The result is a full week of real, home-cooked food that you can access with minimal effort: open the fridge, follow the label, heat and eat. We handle every part of the cooking process except the eating.
Who We Serve in San Francisco
Our San Francisco clients include seniors in their seventies, eighties, and nineties living independently in apartments across the Richmond and Sunset districts, adults with Parkinson's disease or MS managing tremors and fatigue, stroke survivors rebuilding daily routines, and adults with mobility limitations who find standing at a stove for an hour painful or unsafe. We also work closely with family caregivers — adult children living across the Bay or in another state entirely — who want to ensure a parent is eating real food and not skipping meals or surviving on toast. If someone in San Francisco is losing weight because cooking has become too hard, eating the same thing every day because variety requires too much effort, or skipping meals because the kitchen feels overwhelming, this service is designed for exactly that situation.
Dietary and Medical Accommodations
San Francisco's senior population is diverse in every sense, including medically. We prepare meals daily for clients managing Type 2 diabetes who need carbohydrate-controlled, low-glycemic cooking. We work within strict low-sodium guidelines for clients with hypertension or heart failure. For seniors with kidney disease, we prepare renal-diet meals with careful attention to potassium, phosphorus, and protein levels. Clients with swallowing difficulties receive soft, minced, or pureed meals prepared to IDDSI texture standards. We accommodate gluten intolerance, dairy allergies, nut allergies, and multiple overlapping restrictions. Culturally specific cuisine — Filipino, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and beyond — is never a problem. We believe eating well means eating food that tastes like your life, not like a hospital.
How the Service Works
Start with a free Kitchen and Nutrition Assessment. Justine or a member of our team visits your San Francisco home for a relaxed 30-minute conversation. We ask about your health history, any diagnoses or dietary guidelines from your doctor, the foods you love and the foods you cannot eat, and what a typical week of meals currently looks like. From there, we build a personalized meal plan and schedule your first prep session. Most clients in San Francisco book weekly sessions. After each visit, we follow up to hear what worked, what you would change, and how you are feeling — so the menu keeps improving over time. There are no rigid contracts. We work around your schedule, your kitchen, and your needs.
San Francisco Neighborhoods We Serve
We serve clients throughout San Francisco, including the Richmond District, Outer Sunset, Inner Sunset, Noe Valley, Castro, Mission District, Pacific Heights, Laurel Heights, West Portal, Excelsior, Ingleside, Visitacion Valley, Portola, and Bayview. We are familiar with the access challenges that come with San Francisco's hills, narrow hallways, and older apartment buildings, and we plan our visits accordingly. If you live in a building with elevator access or one that requires climbing stairs, let us know when you schedule and we will account for it. For seniors in assisted living facilities or board-and-care homes in San Francisco who have access to a shared or personal kitchen, we can work in those environments as well.
