Well Prepped Life — Service
A Personal Chef for Your Family — Without a Stranger in Your Kitchen
Most families who look up a personal chef are not picturing a uniformed private chef plating dinner at a marble island. They're picturing Tuesday. Two working adults, kids or an aging parent or both, somebody's dietary restriction that makes takeout a minefield, and the honest math that nobody in the house has ninety minutes a night to cook. That is exactly the household I cook for. I'm Justine Sanidad, a ServSafe-certified personal chef based in Mountain View. Each week you and I set your family's menu together, I shop and cook everything fresh that day in my own commercial kitchen, and I deliver it to your door — portioned, labeled, and ready to heat. You get a personal chef's food and a personal chef's attention to your preferences, without hosting anyone in your kitchen and without private-chef money.
What Hiring a Personal Chef Actually Costs
The numbers families find when they price this out: a full-time or live-in private chef in the Bay Area runs about $2,000–$4,000 a week. A personal chef who cooks in your home runs $200–$500 per visit, rebooked every time, plus $50 a week for delivery and groceries — and custom menus are often an upcharge on top. My Personal Chef plan is $490 a week flat: you author the menu with me, with as much variation as you'd like, and changes are free. Delivery and groceries are one flat $50 a week on top, so the whole bill is two numbers and you know both before we start. Families who want the chef's food without authoring the menu start at $180/week (chef's choice) or $250/week (choose from my rotating menu). The full framework is on the [pricing page](/pricing).
How the Week Works
Early in the week we set the menu — some families send ideas, most take my suggestions and edit. I build around what your household actually eats: the kid who won't touch anything with visible onions, the adult tracking protein, the grandmother whose cardiologist set a sodium ceiling. On cook day I shop that morning, spend the afternoon cooking everything fresh in my own kitchen, and deliver the same day in a cooler — 6 fresh meals, portioned and labeled by dish, date, and reheat instructions. Many families leave last week's washed containers out for exchange and we run glass, not plastic. If a dish wasn't a hit, tell me; it's off the rotation or reworked by the next menu. That feedback loop is the whole product.
A Real Client Week
One working family I cook for found me when the adults were, in their words, pressed for time and tired of deciding dinner at 5:40pm. We built a system: menu set together on Sundays or Mondays, two proteins stretched across the week with a vegetable and a carb each, generally organic and portioned generously enough that one meal feeds a big appetite or two smaller ones. Cooked Tuesday in a commercial kitchen, delivered Tuesday in a cooler, glass containers exchanged at the door. Their review of the arrangement after several months: the family eats much better, the work-week dinners are handled, and they got their evenings back. That's the job. Not a special occasion — the removal of a nightly chore, done to restaurant standard, tuned to one specific household.
Who This Fits
Three kinds of households, in practice. Busy families who want week-night dinners handled with real food instead of delivery apps. Restriction-driven households — diabetic, low-sodium, renal, gluten-free, soft-texture, or several at once across different family members — where the menu has to be engineered, not just cooked, and where my clients stay for years because the customization is the point. And performance households: adults with protein or macro targets who want training nutrition that doesn't taste like a chore (see [high-protein meal prep](/services/high-protein-meal-prep)). If your household is mainly a senior needing medically-guided meals, start at [personal chef for seniors](/services/personal-chef-for-seniors) instead — same chef, different playbook.

“Well Prepped Life (WPL) has been such a blessing for my mother, who was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. With her strict dietary restrictions, finding meals that are both kidney-friendly and enjoyable has been a challenge, especially because my mom is a very picky eater. The meals are thoughtfully prepared to fit her dietary needs without sacrificing flavor. Most importantly, my mom actually enjoys the food—and that means so much to us. I’m truly grateful to WPL for helping make this difficult transition a little easier and more enjoyable for my mom. I highly recommend Well Prepped Life.”
